i started my essential oil journey several months ago to help with certain ailments, ward off germies, and (hopefully) help my littles drift off to sleep more easily. i knew that i wanted to get oils from reputable companies, but i also wanted it to be affordable; since i wanted to get several blends. a girl i worked with use doterra's onguard touch on her little ones, so i decided to buy some of that. then a friend of mine kept posting positive reviews on plant therapy, so i checked them out and found they have a kid safe line. this took the guesswork out of whether or not i could use them on my kiddos! another bonus: they were affordable! some are almost half the price of doterra and young living if you order the rollers (which i did). currently in our little one's oils stash we have:
- better than kisses-to help with the owies
- calming the child-to help with tranquility
- immune boom-to aid in a healthy immune system
- sniffle stoppper-for when the babies have the sniffles
- sweet dreams-basically to help them sleep so mama can sleep
- doterra onguard touch-to help keep the germies at bay
any time one of the boys has a bug bite, or a scrape, or a bruise, we use better than kisses. i haven't actually tried it on myself, so i don't know how well it actually works, but my boys always stop complaining after putting it on, so i'm sold. when oliver is feeling overwhelmed in large crowds or when there's loud noises, we pull out calming the child and he's almost instantly leveled out. i have yet to use sniffle stopper on them (thank goodness!), but did use it on myself and it helped. we put sweet dreams on the boys every night before bed and any time we're out in a public place or they're in child care for my mom group, i roll a gallon of onguard touch on them and pray. seems to work just about every time!
the boys really enjoy using oils, especially joseph. in fact, he gets so mad if we don't let him use them himself (we watch him, obviously). he likes to roll them on behind his ears, on his wrists, and sometimes on his cheek.
i made him an oily baby onesie since he's so obsessed. and i had to order an oils shirt for myself as well. i also needed a place to store all of the kids' oils separate from mine, so i made them an oils bag with star wars fabric, because star wars.
we've really benefited from using the oils so far. i alone have been able to keep my anxiety in check with some blends that a friend of mine made, and have also had some nice sexy time with my husband thanks to plant therapy's sensual synergy blend.
we do want to expand our use of oils beyond just using them topically, though. by the end of the year i want to use essential oils in several other ways around the house; especially with cleaning and deodorizing. thankfully, plant therapy has a good selection of accessories to help bottle some cleaning recipes.
in what ways do you use oils? do you have a favorite brand/blend/recipe? drop some household cleaning recipes below! happy oiling!

Plant therapy is wonderful! Their kidsafe line has made things so easy for me! <3
ReplyDeleteIt really is so convenient having a kid safe line! Did you know they also have dilution charts??!
DeleteI do like that Joseph wants to take care of himself. That is a good sign. Tough on mom and dad I'm sure, but a good sign for his future man self.
ReplyDeleteIt definitely can be tough at times, but we do like to foster independence in the kids to help prepare them for the future!
